As Pi Day approaches. the student council has planned a fund-raising event where students can “pie” willing volunteers, a day early, on Friday, March 14. Prices vary, depending on the title: Pieing principal Greg Fucheck with a whipped cream pie will cost $5. The fee for pieing a staff member is $3 and a student council board member is $2.
Jazlene Rosario, a freshman, is looking forward to the event. “If I were to pie anyone, I would try to pie Ms. Gaynor because she would be funny to pie,’’ she said.
Jazlene thinks that this day will be fun for the students to see some of their favorite teachers get pied. “I’ve heard a lot of students talking about pieing Ms. Gaynor,’’ she said.
Kayla Corrella, a sophomore, is pumped for this day to watch people get pied. “This time of the year is rough and it would kick off some spring events and help students feel less stressed,” she said.
Sabrina Alkayfee, a chemistry teacher, thinks the event will help students branch out. “It will help the kids improve connections,” she said.
She also thinks the day will increase school spirit and boost attendance. “I love that we are able to be a part of these important memories with the kids,” she said.
Abraham Zuniga, a math teacher, is thrilled for Pi Day, which represents a mathematical symbol. He thinks the day will be good for students to have a mental break along with teachers. He predicts that Ms. Gaynor will get the most bids.
“She is a great sport for doing that,’’ he said.
Mr. Zuniga also plans on pieing his students five times each. “Oh yeah, I’m pieing Zoe, Diosbeni and Jordan.”
