The Bronx River Travel Program has revamped trip plans and fundraising efforts with the hopes of taking students on trips to Ecuador in 2027 and Japan in 2028.
“I’m happy to share that we have raised over $700 this school year for the International travel program,’’ Anna Maria Jack, who hosted most of the fundraisers, said.
Fundraisers have included a soccer watch party, a gift card raffle and dress-down passes. The program will also host a Thrift Store Pop Up on June 25, the day of the Family BBQ.
The program, which took students to Costa Rica in 2025, had hoped to take students to Italy this spring but didn’t have enough students. The teachers, who had signed up to chaperone, went ahead on their own but came back determined to find ways to put the trip in reach of more students.
“Three students have signed up so far for going to Japan,” Ms. Jack said. The expectations are for six students to join the trips, as well as staff can also attend.
