The grade on grade basketball tournament has come to an end and the 2026 champions have finally been decided.

The game began with both teams trying to gain an edge they could take into the second half. After a series of turnovers and missed shots, senior Mustafah Drammeh opened the scoring with a lay up in the last two minutes of the first half. The seniors were able to hold that lead to the end of the first half giving them a 2-0 advantage.

The second half was more of that competitiveness with both teams working hard to go home crowned the winners. The seniors were able to maintain a strong lead which eventually allowed them to defeat the underclassmen with a score of 9-3. Mustafah led the senior team in scoring, with 4 points.

A big trophy is displayed in our school hallway which means the seniors get to leave with their achievement immortalized.

Senior Austin Zhu attributes the team’s success to their hustle, “Definitely Mustafa everybody’s hustle even though everybody was tired,” he said.  I’m gonna say everybody really tried their hardest.”
