The Student Recognition Dinner, which was supposed to be Feb. 25 for students who have achieved perfect attendance, honor roll and high honor roll, got postponed due to the weather. The new dinner date will be Thursday, March 5.
To make the honor roll, students need an average of 85 percent and above and no grade less than an 80 percent. To qualify for high honor roll, students need at least a 90 percent average with no grade less than an 85 percent.
The dinner is for students and their parents. The food served has been decided but will be kept as a surprise until the day of the dinner. The food for the past two years have been Jamaican food and Spanish food.
Students will receive awards of accomplishments and gain recognition for their hard work throughout the semester during the dinner. National Honor Society members will also be announced at the awards dinner, so stay tuned.
