The DreamWorks waterpark trip, an annual spring trip to encourage good attedance, will be on May 7. Students must have 90 percent attendance from March 1 to April 29 to qualify for the trip. Students cannot be absent for more than three days inside that time frame.
The names of the qualified students for this trip in East Rutherford, N.J., will be posted on the wall by the main office. Interested students must turn in their permission slip as soon as they can since there are limited spots for only 150 students.
The DreamWorks Waterpark is inside the American Dream mall where students can swim around in the lazy river, go on waterslides and eat at their favorite DreamWorks inspired-food spot. Many students are excited to return to this trip and some students are excited to experience it for the first time.
Freshman Liam Esteves, who has never been to the park, has heard his peers speak about how fun and exciting the waterpark trip is and has seen many students encourage each other to attend school so that they are eligible to go. “I am excited to be with my friends,” Liam said.
Lewis Chicaiza, a junior, is looking forward to going to the water park again. He views the trip as an opportunity to be with friends that he wouldn’t be seeing as often as he normally does. “It was good since I had friends that were seniors because they weren’t going to be here next year,” he said.
Lewis has this year’s trip planned out. “I want to go on more rides than I did last year,” he said.
He recommends the trip to freshmen and anyone who hasn’t gone before. “They should go on the trip because it’s the biggest one in the mall,” he said.
There are two restaurant options within the allowed area that students can explore called Beach Haven and Burger Shack. Students will be given a meal card that will pay for their food. Students also can purchase other food they want within the park.
