This year’s Valentine’s Day Town Hall had a new twist to it with a change in schedule. Instead of the students going to their first period class and then down to the auditorium, students went to their first and second period classes, watched and participated in the staff vs. student Wiffle ball game third period, went to lunch fourth period, then went to their advisories for a Black History Month trivia game fifth period. They ended the day in the Auditorium with the town hall assembly and LOGIC awards.
Adults and teen-agers participated in a Wiffle ball game in the gymnasium. Wiffle ball is a backyard version of baseball that includes a plastic ball with holes to allow air to pass through it making it harder to hit. Staff beat the students 10-6.
When the Wiffle ball game ended, students had to go to the cafeteria for the No One Eats Alone party.
During town hall, the student council led a Black History Month game where students had to match up Black historical figures to their respective pair. Students weren’t able to see where the respective pairs were so they had to guess and rely on the process of elimination.
During the LOGIC awards celebration, students received praise for their hard work and demonstration of the school’s core value. Students received awards for the following: (Names are listed in order from 9th to 12th grade.)
