Junior Daisy Castro, Bronx River’s artist of the month for January, shares her views and opinions on art. Art teacher Aimee Cavazzi says the students determine the artist of the month through class voting. To be eligible, a student first has to have met all the criteria for the art assignment.
Q: How long have you been creating art?
A: Since I was 11-years old.
Q: How does creating art make you feel?
A: It makes me feel proud because I can create ideas that are my own.
Q: When it comes to art, what is your preferred tool?
A: Pens and Pencils because they are easy to work with and are always accessible.
Q: Did you learn how to draw? Or did you just always know how?
A: I always just knew.
Q: Is there anything you have trouble with in the world of art?
A: Drawing faces. I always use references.
Q: Are you considering pursuing art as a career or would you prefer doing it as a hobby?
A: Hobby.
