During the month of December, the Student Council is promoting Spirit Day as a way to celebrate the upcoming holidays and winter.  Spirit Day will take place on Dec. 15 and will be a dress-down day for all students. Students are encouraged to wear holiday colors or if they aren’t celebrating any approaching holidays, they can wear a winter theme.

Student Council advisor Concepcion Pena  says students are encouraged to choose styles that represent “the essence of what the month is about.”

Examples of winter themes include snowflakes and snowmen and possible holidays include  Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

Lavern Coleman, another advisor, stated, “Usually we would’ve done a pajama day for the seniors but they just had theirs, so the students decided on doing a holiday and winter theme day where everyone is included.”

Make sure to dress up on Friday  to your liking to embrace the whole winter theme and get ready to take pictures.
