Meet+Ms.+Moya%2C+the+new+science+teacher

Sylvia Moya teaches Living Environment at BRHS.

What was your favorite subject in school? Why? I loved science because it fulfilled my curiosity and answered my questions of the world.

What kind of student were you in high school? I was “The Skipper.” I cared more for my social life than my work.

Why did you decide to become a teacher? Why did you pick BRHS? I found something I was good at, like making projects. What helped me decide on BRHS is that Ms. Paes spoke highly of the school.”

Where did you/do you go to college? I went to 3 different schools but all were CUNY.

What do you like to do for fun? I love the outdoors and exploring the natural scenery of the world; one of my favorite activities is hiking.

6Do you have any pets? What kind? Names? I have many pets, including a snake named Fluffy. and 2 cats, Panda and Puma. Many insects like Walking Sticks.

Fun/interesting fact about you: I’m strange, I like soil and I’m not afraid to touch worms.

If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be instead? I’d be a Marine Biologist or an Ecologist.

What would you like your students to know about you? I’m very chill and relaxed.
