Terryl Talley Jr. shares his insights about playing varsity football for the Lehman Lions.
Q: How long have you been playing?
A: I’ve been playing since my freshman year.
Q: What inspired you to play?
A: Just seeing others on the internet honestly.
Q: What is your position on the team?
A: Starting center.
Q: What is the best part about playing?
A: The brotherhood and seeing everything come together.
Q: What is the most challenging part about playing?
A: Coming to practice every day.
Q: Describe what a typical meet or game is like.
A: Come early, get ready, eat a bit of fruit, mentally prepare, and then it’s on from there.
Q: What was your team record last year?
A: 6-2.
Q: How do you feel like the season is going so far?
A: A little challenging; we played some difficult opponents but the future is looking good.
Q: How have you improved from last year?
A: We became more of a team dynamic; it kind of went from a star show to an everybody show.
Q: What advice do you have for others who want to participate in this sport?
A: Don’t be scared; it’s all mental.
Q: What are you and your team’s goals for the season?
A: Just to win the championship.
Q: Do you play any other sports? If so, what are they? Which is your favorite? Why?
A: I play basketball on the side for fun but football is my sport.
Q: When you graduate from high school, do you plan to continue playing any sports?
A: Nope, it’s a one and done.
