Imagine a convention full of celebration of different comics and media culture. For a movie, television and anime or anything of title or character created.
Held every year at the Javits Center in Manhattan, the New York City Comic Con is a fan convention dedicated to comics, graphic novels, anime, manga and more.

At the fan fest, you’re able to meet people who share your interests. You get to have fun socializing and shopping for merchandise for the many different genres. You’re able to dress up as whoever you like as long as it’s appropriate. You can even see others dressing up as a character you may know; this year there were many different cosplays from fandoms like Loki from Marvel, Spider-Man and Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus.
Panels and special events, such as Ghostbusters Training Center Slime Lab, Smiling Friends, Hasbro Star Wars, Marvel Panel, and Stranger Things, Invincible, provided visitors with insights about the shows and info about upcoming episodes. Visitors also got a chance to meet and see favorite actors who signed autographs and posed for photos. This year’s guests included Bryce Dallas Howard, Elliot Page, James McAvoy, Troy Baker, Brendan Fraser and Laurence Fishburne.
The show isn’t just for youngsters. In fact, some teachers are considering going next year.
Monique Paes, a reading teacher, would like to go there if she could. “Because I love to check out artists and I like to hear interviews from actors, I would go there,” she said. “It’s kinda overwhelming seeing so many things you can buy but it’s still fun.’’
Charley Ruperto , a science teacher, also is interested. “I would like to go because I grew up with comics such as Spider-Man and Batman and Doctor Who,” he said.
