Q: How long have you been playing?
A: I’ve been playing for about two years now since junior year.
Q: What inspired you to play this sport?
A: Honestly I have just been looking at videos about it and it just popped up on one of my YouTube for-you pages and stuff like that. A friend hit me up about it and I tried it out; I liked it.
Q: What is your position on the team?
A: I am a midfielder. I am currently the captain of the team.
Q: What is the best part about playing this sport?
A: The best part is having communication and being with my team.
Q: What is the most challenging part about participating in this sport?
A: The most challenging part is how physical it is; it’s a very physical and aggressive sport. Sometimes it’s really hard to communicate with my teammates on the field if we have our mouth guards in.
Q: What is a typical meet or game like?
A: The average game is just practicing our fundamentals on the game, passing and catching, running our plays that we need, and trying to score as much as we could.
Q: How do you feel like the season is going so far?
A: The season is going okay, we still lost a lot of games but we tried our best. We still have our teamwork going.
Q: How have you improved from last year?
A: I have improved quite a bit, I have been practicing everyday.
Q: What advice do you have for others who want to participate in this sport?
A: Just try it out, see how you like it. If you like it, commit to it, lacrosse is definitely a growing sport now so I would definitely try it out.
Q: When you graduate from high school, do you plan to continue playing any sports?
A: I plan on going to play college lacrosse, if not, probably college ice hockey. Before I do that, I’m gonna finish basic training in the military.
