
Students and staff lined the hallways with party poppers and confetti as seniors paraded through the hallways with signs announcing thier post-secondary plans on May 14. Afterwards, seniors celebrated with a pizza party.
Senior Michael Vega, accepted into Baruch College, says he will miss his friends and seeing his teachers.’
“I’m gonna miss lunch because that was the fun part of High School,” said Hazel Ramos. She plans to study art history at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. Hazel looks forward to doing cheer and college softball in college.
Justin Gomez believes that taking time to research one’s college is essential. “A challenge for me was truly getting to know the internships and programs the school I want to go to offers,” he said.

Rejwana Islam says that some important factors in deciding which college to attend was “my major and if I can do the career distance.” She believes that “diversity matters and the quality of education and the teachers.”
Twenty-two students are headed to Bronx Community College in the fall. Twelve students will go to BMCC, eight students to Lehman college, eight students to Baruch College and six students to Hunter college.
Other post-secondary choices include City College, the U.S. National Guard, the U.S. Army, Apex Technical Schol, SUNY Binghamton, Hostos Community College, Guttman Community College, the University of Bridgeport, John Jay College, City Tech College, Lincoln Tech, Monroe College, Wayne State University, COOP Tech, Mercy College, University of Mount Saint Vincent, Hillsborough College, St. John’s University, Fashion Institute of Technology, U.S. Navy, University of Buffalo, Clinton Community College, SUNY at Stony Brook and the Employment Theater Program.
