Senior student, Alex Disla, at Bronx River High School plays lacrosse for the Lehman Lions. He shares his passionate experience as someone looking forward to playing lacrosse in college.
Q: How long have you been playing this sports?
A: I’ve been playing lacrosse for three and a half months.
Q: What inspired you to play this sport?
A: My friend did.
Q: What is your position on the team?
A: I play attack and midfield.
Q: What is the best part about playing this sport?
A: The best part about playing this sport is I get to use my speed because I am very fast.
Q: What is the most challenging part about participating in this sport?
A: The most challenging part about participating in this sport is probably the physical part because I am very small so I can get hit.
Q: What is a typical meet or game like?
A: The average game is pretty fast-paced and you really don’t know what’s going on. Sometimes you’re a bit lost, it’s going pretty fast.
Q: How do you feel like the season is going so far?
A: The season’s going pretty good; I think I’m getting a little bit better.
Q: What advice do you have for others who want to participate in this sport?
A: The advice I have is get ready to get hit a lot and have bruises.
Q: What are you and your team’s goal for the season?
A: Me and my team’s goal for the season is to make it to the playoffs. We want to put our team to the top.
Q: When you graduate from high school, do you plan to continue playing any sports?
A: When I graduate from high school, I want to play lacrosse in college.
