A student council event gave students a chance to share the traditions of Eid by giving and getting henna tattoos during lunch on March 26 and 27. Eid-al-fitr is a festival that marks the end of the fast of Ramadan, which is a holy month in Islam.
Ashgan Alraidani, a henna artist, said that a finished henna should be left to dry and unwashed for 24 hours for the best outcome. “I do henna because it’s a hobby I enjoy,” she said.
Student Jordin Brown who had her henna done for the first time, loved the experience. “I enjoyed getting my henna done and will be doing it again,” she said.
Freshman Noof Mohammed says that she stopped doing henna when she was younger, but the beauty of it made her want to do it again. Preferably, she “likes the finger designs and flowers”.
