Forget the game. The real star of the Super Bowl is the food. And as fans gear up for the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the two-time reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs, they are dreaming of tables filled with pizza, wings, chips, soda and more.
Blair Misir, a senior, starts off with chips and dip because, “It doesn’t get you full, and you could always come back for more.” He recommends you get pizza because “Everyone loves pizza!” However, he would not recommend you get cake for the Super Bowl. Blair says, “Who eats cake during the Super Bowl?”
Luis Grosso, also a senior, likes regular food to start for the Super Bowl. “It depends but I really love the Hawaiian wings with pizza.” To change it up, “I would recommend empanadas, you know, something different.” A food Luis would not recommend for the Super Bowl is squid. “Who eats that during the Super Bowl?”
Jayden Mota, a sophomore, is a very serious Super Bowl watcher. He only recommends “Wings, chips, and that’s it. They’re good snacks, and they’re traditional.” He recommends people eat foods like tenders and wings because you don’t really have to focus on them in order to eat them. He likes to be very attentive to what is going on in the Super Bowl. However, he would not suggest getting any food that might be messy. “I would not recommend messy foods because you would have to look away in order to clean them up.”
Sebastian Perez, a junior, also enjoys the basic foods of a Super Bowl such as pizza. “I recommend pizza because usually when you’re watching the Super Bowl, you’re watching it with friends. That way you can share a slice with everybody.” He suggests getting wings: “Who doesn’t love wings?” He suggests you to not eat anything spicy so you can pay attention.
As fans gather to cheer on their teams, the delicious food makes the Super Bowl a celebration to remember. Whether your team wins or loses, the joy of sharing great food and moments with loved ones is a victory in itself. People come together to watch the Super Bowl, not only for the game, but for the memories that come along with it.
