Oscar Alba Meze, a junior on varsity soccer, shares his personal experience as an athlete on Lehman campus.
Q: What sport are you playing this season?
A: Varsity Soccer.
Q: What inspired you to start playing soccer and why did you find inspiration from it?
A: The soccer player Neymar because I like his playing style and he makes the game more enjoyable to watch.
Q: If you were to give advice to someone who’s thinking about playing, what would you say to them?
A: Just work hard and practice.
Q: What goals do you and your team have for this season and how will you work to achieve these goals?
A: Our goal is to win everything as a team and we’re gonna practice really hard and play our best to achieve that goal.
Q: Do you plan on playing in the future and making a career out of it?
A: Yes I want to be a professional one day.
Q: How long have you been playing soccer for?
A: Five years.
Q: What position do you play and is it challenging?A: I play left wing which is sometimes challenging since it could be pretty stressful.
Q: What is your favorite part about playing on the soccer team?
A: Playing one on one and breaking the defenders ankles because it makes me feel like an untouchable player.
Q: How have you improved?
A: By working hard and practicing.
