Marie Coatl Camacho played on the junior varsity team last year. This year she is on the varsity squad. She also plays lacrosse in the spring.
Q: How long have you been playing?
A: “I have been playing volleyball since I was 6 years old”.
Q: What inspired you to play the sport?
A: “My elementary school gym teacher inspired me to play because he said I had the capability to do it.”
Q: What is the best part about playing this sport?
A: “The best part about playing volleyball is having the strength to win games.”
Q: What is the most challenging part about participating in the sport?
A: “The most challenging part of this sport is having good communication and receiving the ball.”
Q: Describe what a typical meet or game is like?
A: “It has a lot of pressure to it and it’s pretty scary.”
Q: How do you feel like the season is going so far?
A: “On September 11 we started our second scrimmage game against Harry S. Truman and we are gonna verse them again this season; it feels pretty good to know what teams were versing
Q: How have you improved from last year?
A. “Last year I was in the JV team and I improved from starting to spike and having stronger serves.”
Q: What advice do you have for others who want to participate in a sport?
A: “Always try new things even though you don’t know what to expect and to never give up.”
Q: What are you and your team’s goals for this season?
A: “ To win the PSAL championship and going to the playoffs.”
Q: When you graduate from high school, do you plan on continuing any sport?
A: “Volleyball and Lacrosse”
