The school commemorated 90+ attendance with an exciting roller skating disco celebration on Feb. 14. With students falling every now and then, the workers helped people skate while they were trembling at their feet and teachers on stand-by took lots of videos and pictures.
Whether it was skating or just chilling on the side with food and beverages, people seemed be having a good time. While skating around the cafetera, I observed friends helping each other out, people dancing to the music and even staff joining in on the fun.
Justin Gomez, a student who attended the roller skating party, said he had a wonderful time despite getting hurt and had to spend most of the time learning how to skate. When asked whether there was anything he would have changed, he replied that he would have preferred to have the party outside because it would have been more impressive, especially with the cafeteria’s many walls.
Stephanie DeCicco, a teacher who attended the party, stated that she had a great time. Although she didn’t stay the whole time, she says that what she saw looked like everyone was enjoying themselves. She believes that hosting a skate party to celebrate reaching 90+ attendees was a terrific idea because it exposes the people to something new, which is always a positive thing. “Me not falling because that hurt!” was her response when asked what she would have changed about the celebration.
