Bronx River High School goes remote on Tuesday, Feb. 13, due to an expected snow storm. New York is looking to get 6 to 9 inches of snow. The DOE has decided to let students and staff do synchronized teaching due to the weather conditions.
“I think it’s great because when I first started teaching, I had to drive in a foot of snow,’’ said Gregory Fucheck, the school’s principal. “It was so much that in 2005, I had to buy a SUV to deal with it. Students have more difficulty due to public transportation being limited or shut down. With all the advancements in technology recently due to Covid, it makes this transition easier for just one day. ”
Students are very happy to go remote but DOE is looking for 90 percent or more of attendance from all schools across the city to keep this idea going. Bronx River Students stay safe and warm. Most of all make sure to join all Google meets.
