Students at BRHS came together with their advisory classes for potluck celebrations following the first Town Hall of the school year on Nov. 22. At the pre-Thanksgiving event in the cafeteria, students received awards and performed.
Teachers presented Logic Awards to the following students:
- Love of Learning: Roa Yabai, Justin Arias, Edelyne Liriano, Elsa Rayo
- Mr. O’s Optimism: Mia Lappe, Tracey Junious, Michael Vega, Emily Holguin
- Grit: Abigail Giron, Ann Kiara Bourdeau, Allan Gomez, William Lappe
- Intellectual Curiosity: Sumeja Halili, Jomayra Amparo, Ysmerlin Ortiz, Marisa Rana
- Caring: Jhon Russell, Aliyah Ali, Julio Valdez, Ashly Batista Hernandez
Senior Darnell Francis-Mozon sang while sophomore Gabriel Joseph and the Bronx River Husky showed off their dance moves.
After Town Hall in the basement in the cafeteria, students walked upstairs to the fourth floor where they gathered for potluck celebations during sixth period. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors celebrated in their advisories. The senior boy advisories met in one room while the senior girl advisories met in another.
Plenty of delicious dishes were served at the potluck, showing off the cooking skills of both teachers and students. The feasts featured everything from pizza, lasagna and fried rice to fried chicken, jollof rice and mac and cheese. The smell of hot chocolate and homemade desserts added a cozy touch to the celebratiaon
