A month into the school year, BRHS has begun opening clubs once again. This includes pre-existing clubs like the gaming club, and new clubs that are being launched this fall. Cesar Jimenez, a junior has made a club of his own, which officially started on Oct. 4.
“The purpose of this club is to take a role of mentoring and leadership to help tutor students in their respective classes,” according to Charlie Ruperto, the club’s advisor.
As of right now, the students tutoring are: Cesar Jimeniez, Nada Isa, Santo Nath, Shumo Nath, Mais Abdullah, and Ashgan Alraidani.”
He goes on to explain the time frame in which everything should take place. “From now to January will be used to reconfirm for the spring semester. Within this time, tutors will be taking charge with helping students,” Mr. Ruperto says.
Cesar, the brain/ behind this club, looks forward to the club and its future. He explains his enthusiasm for his club idea to flourish. “It’s an exciting opportunity because it gives us the chance to help our peers. It also looks great on the college application,” he says. Not only is Cesar the creator of the club, but he is also making his own contributions. “I specifically tutor history. I make all of the big decisions and executions needed for the club,” he adds. He further expresses his biggest goal for the club. “I want many members and people to learn from the club. I want to see improvement in students’ grades and regents scores,” he concludes.
