Marco Pompa, a new teacher at BRHS, teaches Global 9 and Government
What was your favorite subject in school? Why? Social studies and science because I grew up watching the history channel along with the science channel.
What kind of student were you in high school? I was a good student but i tried getting away with some things.
Why did you decide to become a teacher? Why did you pick BRHS? Well , at first I wanted to go into marketing but I didn’t find a passion for it but when it came to teaching I liked it a lot. I choose Bronx River High School because after getting an interview with Mr. Fucheck and a demo lesson, I fell in love with the school and the contributions it has to offer I guess you can say it was love at first sight.
Where did you go to college? I went to Fordham University for my undergraduate and masters.
What do you like to do for fun? I like to golf and do a lot of sporty activities and hang out with my friends, along with playing video games.
Do you have any pets? What kind? Names? I have a dog. Its breed is a Beagle. His name is lloid.
Fun/interesting fact about you: I am a Jets fan.
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do instead? I would probably become a race car driver.
What would you like your students to know about you? I guess I’m more relatable to teens and young adults around your age because I’m a young teacher.
