Schools, museums share ideas at Museum & Civics Fair
Students, teachers and museum representatives shared ideas and resources at the Museum and Civics Fair at the Evander Childs High School campus in the Bronx on June 7. High School students presented their Take Action Projects on topics that included Sexism and Discrimination, Mental Health of Immigrants, Gun Violence, and Book Banning and Censorship.
Participating high schools included Harry S. Truman High School, Bronxwood Preparatory Academy, Gotham Collaboration High School, Pelham Preparatory Academy, Westchester Square Academy, Academy for Scholarship & Entrepreneurship, Bronx High School for Writing & Communication Arts, Marie Curie School for Medicine, Nursing & Health Professions, and The Bronx High School of Science. The Bronx River High School news staff also shared information on how to start a school newspaper.
Museums sharing resources and information included the New York Transit Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Bronx Historical Society, New York City Municipal Archives, Museum of Jewish Heritage, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Finance in America, New York Historical Society, Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Bronx Library Center, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Chinese in America and Wave Hill and the Morgan Library & Museum.
