Community service club distributes food
The BRHS community service club visited a nearby church to give out meals to those in need on Saturday, Oct. 15. Students Jaden Rodriguez, Fahim Choudhury, Dariella Morilla, and Dylan Palacio distributed prepared meals as well as fresh fruits and vegetables.
The opportunity to give back to individuals in their neighborhood was the highlight of their trip, says U.S. History teacher Valerie Dolan. Every Saturday, the club’s advisors, Ms. Dolan and Ashley Rodriguez, a consumer math and English teacher at the school, take students on outings to support the community. Both Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Dolan point out that they not only get to give back to the community, but they also discover fascinating events for the students to include on their resumes and college applications.
Want to pitch in? See Ms. Rodriguez or Ms. Dolan for information on the dates of upcoming trips. Anyone who wants to join can.
Aliyah Ali , an 11th grader at BRHS , wishes to become a RN in the NICU and she holds high ambitions.
